An article in Inside Higher Ed discusses a new student loan repayment bill introduced by Senators Angus King (I-ME) and Richard Burr (R-NC).
To me it looks to address many of the problems we currently have with student loan repayment. It applies only to new loans, keeps all current repayment options, adjusts for inflation, keeps PSLF, treats borrowers married to other borrowers equitably and is fair to both high income and high debt borrowers.
