Bio: Eden Myers

I grew up in Lexington Kentucky, graduating high school in 1987. My husband and I married in 1994, just before I started working toward a BS in Ag (Animal Science) from UK 1997, summa cum laude.  Got my DVM 2001 cum laude from Auburn University in Alabama.  War Eagle!

We moved back to Kentucky at graduation to live on my husband's family farm in Clark and Montgomery counties, 30 miles east of Lexington.  I have practiced as an associate veterinarian in multiple settings in KY, OH and WV since graduation.  Went back for a Master’s from UK in 2003, doing research as a post doc into the impact of dietary fatty acids on reproduction in beef cattle.

In addition to working as a practicing veterinarian and raising our two kids, starting in 2012 I started raising the profession's consciousness with compilations of the cost of a DVM degree, the numbers obtaining the degree and their outcomes. We relocated to Austin Texas in the summer of 2014, where I am currently training for a marathon, homeschooling and getting serious about disrupting the veterinary profession.
